Petricor is an uncommon word used in mineral chemistry or geochemistry to describe the pleasant scent of rain falling on very dry ground.

Petricor is a compound of the Greek nouns pétrā “rock, stone” (as in petroleum “rock oil”) and īchṓr, the juice or liquid—not blood!—that flows in the veins of the Olympian gods.

About 60 percent of ancient Greek words have no satisfactory etymology; īchṓr is one of them. Petrichor was coined by two Australian chemists, Isabel “Joy” Bear and Richard Grenfell Thomas, in 1964.

Thus stemmed the beginnings of Petricor DTL - from the earth to serve humanity in the most rewarding manner possible.

Established in 2020, Petricor Digital Technologies Limited operates from offices in Lagos, Nigeria and Johannesburg, South Africa.

Petricor DTL was born out of the deepest conviction of its founders, who considered that transformation using digital technologies is possible for any business or organization regardless of its location, status and challenges.

Paul G. Veenendaal and Emmanuel A. Akhidenor as founding members of Petricor DTL had worked for many years within the ICT industry, and with their last 10 years plus up into 2019 consummated working with leading ICT organizations within and outside the continent of Africa, where they both rose through the ranks to senior executive management positions and with vast experiences in technology solutions consulting, solutions architecture and designs, technology deployment and support. They also became advocates of Customer Experience and Strategists in IT Services Management.

We are passionate about championing the adoption and use of secure digital technologies in every sphere of human endeavors as a business or an organization, to achieve great successes and increase overall performance.
